Jefferson Parish Constable Allen Leone, Jr. formally announced his candidacy for a full- term as Constable for the Fifth Justice of the Peace District. Constable Allen Leone, Jr. worked his way up from Deputy to Chief Deputy and assumed the office of Constable upon the death of Constable Raymond Waguespack last July. The Jefferson Parish Council voted unanimously to appoint Leone to the Constable position in July. Leone graduated from Spring Hill College with a double major in 2007. Following graduation, he gained experience in property management and real estate and became a partner in Keller Williams Realty in the River Parishes. Understanding the importance of protecting the integrity of neighborhoods and preserving property values and with a dedication to law enforcement, Leone joined the Constable?s Office in 2015 as a Deputy Constable and worked his way up to the position of Chief Deputy Constable. He completed the Jefferson Parish Sheriff?s Office Citizen Academy in 2015 and completed the Louisiana Attorney General?s training courses for Justice of the Peace and Constables for each the past th ree? years. He is a member of the Louisiana Justice of the Peace and Constables Association. The Constable?s Office serves orders and citations for the Justice of the Peace Court including evictions, small claims, and subpoenas. Constable Leone has been trained by the Attorney General in the laws of the Justice of the Peace Court, Human Trafficking, Illegal Narcotics, Garnishments, Evictions, Judicial Sales, Landlord Tenant Issues, Service of Process, Consumer Issues, and Working with Local Government, among other aspects of the office. In addition to closely supervising a staff of Deputy Constables, Constable Leone personally takes the field to enforce Court orders. Said Leone, ?It is important to protect the integrity of our neighborhoods while also serving with compassion and an even temperament. The experience I gained working as the office?s Chief Deputy and as Constable gives me a unique understanding of how to balance the concerns of the community while being sensitive to individuals who rely on the department?s professionalism." In 2016, Allen Leone, Jr. was elected to both the Republican Parish Executive Committee and the Republican State Central Committee. As a graduate of St. Clement of Rome School, he remains active today as both a parishioner and member of the St. Clement of Rome Men?s Club. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and supports its charitable activities. Leone, 33, is married to Linsday Gelpi and they have three children, Ava (7), Antonia (4), and Allen (3).
