The 80-year-old lives in a modest flat in Pimlico, south London. Alter initially defending her husband's memory, Mrs Maxwell now acknowledges his faults but says he was corrupted by power. Kevin Maxwell 42 has enjoyed mixed fortunes since the demise of his father's empire in 1991. He was declared Britain's biggest bankrupt in 1992, with pounds 406million worth of debt. Sanctions were lifted in 1996 and Kevin continued his well-paid if not always successful business career. In ten years, he has been a director of 81 different firms of which only 32 have survived. Two years ago he teamed up with his elder brother Ian to head a telecoms group Telemonde. While the finn's suppliers have struggled for payments, Kevin pockets pounds 240,000 a year. Ian Maxwell took over Mirror Group after his father's death but had to resign when the pensions scandal broke. Together with brother Kevin in 1996, he was cleared of fraud charees related to Robert Maxwell's business dealings. But the 44-year-old endured the break-up of his marriage to TV producer Laura Plumb. He is a director of 31 companies, four of which face insolvency. Ghislaine Maxwell moved to New York after the scandal engulfed her family. The 39-year-old is a close friend of Prince Andrew and often holidays with die royal. She has also been linked to billionaire Manhattan property developer Jeffrey Epstein. Twins Christine and Isabel cashed in on the Internet boom, starting a software company in California. They pocketed pounds 100million thanks to a programme that helps people surf the web. Both are married and live on America's west coast. Christine also has a home in France.
