FBI New York Field Office Victim Assistance Program Updates Submitted ou=t. 2020 I Victim Assistance ­ VS is begi g to coordinate with C-20 and VSD regarding victim notifications/briefings for potential co-conspintior arrests in the Jeffrey Epstein case. I Initiatives I ­ VS has written an article entitled "Defending Against the Effects of Vicarious Trauma for Law Enforcement Professionals," which has been approved by VSD and OPA for publication in the Investioor. ­ VS M I begari working with SA member of the NYMetro InfraGard chapter, as they prepare a series of I-Iate Crime/Bias Incidents webinars inJune. 'Din.• series will have 4 parts. The third part of the series will feature pest-incident resources available to victims. ­ VS participated in an FBIHQ-led, VSD-supported study regarding Victim Specialists in the field, for the purposes of possibly reallocating Victim Specialist resources to field offices that need it the most. VS VIILS interviewed for 1 hour by HQ employees and I Training I ­ VS will participate in a webinar tr vg on 14, 2020 entitled "Neurobiology of Trauma & Intersection with COVID-19," hosted by the National Crime Victim law Institute. ­ VS continues to study new research iu the field of trauma and clinical work with traumatized young children.
