We stand on the cusp of history on many fronts. There is an opportunity to elect our first female president and keep our democracy from sinking into dangerous and unprecedented demagoguery. There is an opportunity to move beyond obstructionist governance in Congress, and pass progressive legislation in California. And there is an opportunity to pave the way for a Supreme Court that is committed to ensuring the rights and promoting the well-being of every American citizen. In these last few days before the election we have seen and will continue to see innuendo, disinformation, and intimidation deployed to undermine our opportunities for progress, in California and in battleground states. In the face of such efforts, narrow leads in the polls are not enough. Hoping for the best is not enough. There is an urgent need for leadership and explicit engagement — with all of us collectively leveraging our networks to share important information and calls-to-action that increase voter turnout and early voting. Amplifying our efforts now can help preserve the significant accomplishments we've made under President Obama over the last eight years, and increase the likelihood of greater progress in the years ahead.
