He was analytical which is his usual. I sent you everything he brought up. He's skeptical about everything
in life but he didn't say no. I thought his comments were informative but they didn't scream "no" to me?

Hi. I've been thinking about what you said. Steve's been busy this week but says that after
Friday (maybe even over the weekend?) he should have a little more time. Here are some of
my ideas, is this what you were thinking:
Suggested names:
•
ipaws (ipaws.com refers to ipawz.com - a pet rescue agency; it also refers to
Integrated Public Alert and Warning System, from FEMA — as all caps (PAWS)
•
petme
•
gini (pet jeannie) — sounds good in Chinese; like the gini coefficient; name owned
by a video importer from Asia but don't think protected
•
petesorri (like Montessori for pets)
Hardware and software:
•
Primary item 1: Pet collar with comms and/or telemetry capacity
•
Primary item 2: Windows-like program with basic functionality supporting
multiple apps on tablet-like base/device (pod)
•
App 1: Interactive/training software (including options for pet owner voice or
personalization)
•
App 2: Stimulating sounds/games
•
App 3: Owner and pet data entry, including shot records and preventive health
•
App 4: Owner and/or contact (vet?) alerts
•
App 5: Food, clothing and toys ordering
•
App 6: Scent dispenser (smell-o-vision) for behavior modification
•
Peripheral 1: HPS (household positioning system) based on communication
between pet collar and pod and/or additional sensors depending on range and size of
pet's space. Software and hardware was developed by a team of us while at Caltech
for home management of an Alzheimer's patient (mother of a lab member). Could
easily revive and update.
•
Peripheral 2: FWS (food and watering system) based on direct communication
with pod. Could be solar powered or even at some point pet-activated. Food

freshness issues, connectedness to fresh water, germ issues.
•
Peripheral 3: Interactive Pet Screen (paw touch) must be waterproof/lick proof
either on pod or as separate gear with articulating or telescoping arms and release
compartments (for interaction)
•
Peripheral 4: Pet bed with telemetry
•
Peripheral 5: Potty training, ? temperature or weight sensors on training pads
could offer treat treat/positive reinforcement
•
Peripheral 6: In and out pet door
•
Peripheral 7: Small cameras in all peripherals, or specific pet monitors.
