I approached Universal Remotes to obtain or purchase the software needed to program these devices myself. They stated that only a dealer/certified installer can have the software. A+ Security is the only certified dealer on St. Thomas for this remote system. The New York vendors I talked to will not send a technician to handle the installation. The job would have to be a major project ($10,000 or better) for them to send a technician to do an out of state installation. They advised to me to purchase the devices and have a local technician handle the install, but they also cautioned that the devices may not be covered by the warranty. There are two options: 1. Purchase the devices locally to insure that the warranty and maintenance agreements are intact. 2. Get the devices from NY and have the local vendor install them and forgo the warranty.
