Re: Boris
I just saw Boris. He said that he had spoken to Bill today about my in=erest in working at the World Bank He says Bill
thought there were probably some good things we could sha=e across institutions or do better sharing across
institutions.
I was kind of non-responsive and agreed that there are always lessons =o share etc.
Half an hour later I came up to my office and got a call a from the fo=ks at the WB saying that they had heard from the
foundation that I was no =onger interested in the position and were curious as to whether or not I w=uld be
withdrawing my application.
It is a confidential application process (there are 3 people at the WB=who know and Steve, and you) and the WB has
been very good about trying to=keep it that way.
They asked me if I had decided not to keep the process confidential4=iv>
Not sure where this is coming from and how it became like this but Ste=e and I have not told anyone.
This makes me very sad. I have had one real (merit-based opportunity) =n the past few years come my way. It is a
legitimate position and I feel I=ke I have earned a try to at least apply.
Did you tell Boris anything about the WB? I don't want to ask him beca=se it will just confirm that I have applied. He
could be guessing.
