Of course it is the last version or apple TV, but they can't make any software update until your are logged in with your account. Concerning the network we have tested all the solution. When you are connected in WIFI with a computer you only have 3 Mb bandwidth (very poor) When you are connected with a cable directly to the rooter you have 9 Mb. To be honest, i am very surprised that your provider can't deliver better speed. In my opinion you should be able to have at least 20 or 30 Mb. Maybe you should ask your provider if he can do better. Maybe it is just a subscription thing. So if you connect your apple TV in wifi, 3 Mb , terrible result when watching a movie We have moved the airport in the AV cabinet, and connected the apple TV on the RJ45 port of the airport. And then we have 9 Mb. (dont really understand why we have better results) So it means that we don't have any loss, be have exactly the same result as directly on the router. It means we can't do anything better. It is not fantastical for watching an HD movie, but it works quite good (we tried with trailer, it was ok) So please try to watch a full movie, and tell me how it works. In any case, if you can have better bandwidth from you provider, we should have better results on the airport and on the apple TV.
