I think he will need to commit to something. honestly he has nothing to do all day - no friends, no hobbies, no interests. It means he just spirals into a negative frame of mind and reads aN the press. he wanders around aimlessly. sits at starbucks. then comes home to threaten suicide, etc. he needs something to do all day and andreesen provides that. I do not think he can wait until july but possibly. he can certainly do exec ed or more Harvard stuff but it isn't enough. he needs to be consumed by something. he keeps saying he doesn't want to be the high school football star selling insurance. andressen is a nice neutral ground and they actually like working with him. there is a low chance of failure there - also a low chance of success but right now he just needs not to fail more than anything else. in terms of talk to others from msft. he took your (my) advice for a few days. then they all started emailing and wanting to talk. he feels like he is "friends" with them - I am not so sure. this lady Julie is insecure and I do believe she is playing all sides and creating problems for him. he refuses to believe me. the other boys often want moral support or advice since they were all very co-dependent.
