In Mary McCarmey's largest body of work to date, the renowned photographer
pays tribute to the extraordinary beauty of one particular white stallion, her
Alejandro. In a series of portraits, the idyllic countryside of Sussex, England,
where McCartney grew up, forms a backdrop to her close relationship with the
stallion. She is the daughter of rock & roll photographer, Linda Eastman
McCartney.
Using a medium-format camera for formal portraits as well as 35mm and

smartphone cameras for candid shots, she captures equestrian life and the
mysterious bond between human and animal over the course of a year. The reader
is taken through lush green meadows, dappled trails, and nighttime forests, often
using the unique perspective of a mounted rider.
In addition to The White Horse book, a new limited-edition print by Mary
McCartney will be on view and available for purchase at this event.
We sincerely hope you can join us to celebrate Mary McCartney and her new
book.
