Subject: Breakthroughs schedule
To: jeffrey E. <jecvacation@gmail.com>
Here's the schedule (so far):
Los Angeles = March 25-29 (including Ramachandran; names soon)
New York = April 7 (mathematician Greg Chaitin; Danny Chamovitz, plant expert and president
of Ben Gurion Univ -
twww.danielchamovitz.com'home'short-bio - fascinating research; we
found him pursuing your `plant' show);
he discovered the COP9 Signalosome protein complex that was proposed then to be a
master regulator of plant development. Later, Prof. Chamovitz's lab was the first to show that the
COP9 Signalosome is also essential for development of animals. His lab in Tel Aviv has been
spearheading the study of this important protein complex and has shown that it is likely involved in a
number of human diseases including cancer. Prof. Chamovitz is among the most prominent researchers
in this field
New York = April 8 (Chalmers; Hossenfelder, "Lost in Math: How Beauty Leads Physics
Astray"; Horgan)
Princeton = April 15 (Ed Witten; Robbed Dijkgraaf, director of Institute for Advance Study)
Boston = May 13 - 16 (including Nowak)
New York - June 2-5 (Gintis, Kaku, others)
To be determined: San Francisco, UK (Oxford, Cambridge, London), Sante Fe (possible -
Kauffman, West).
Great participants - I'll have a more complete list for the early shoots soon.
When the precise times of interviewees settled, close to the dates, I'll send. Hope you can see one
of the NY shoots.
