When Leighton asked why we didn't replace the barge... I decided for our b=nefit, that we needed to know how much that would cost. I contacted a Navy friend in Washington and asked who is building the Navy=replacements for the LCM 8 like ours. I am happy to say one of the Principals of that company called me and gav= me 30 min of his time to answer my question and discuss the new program. = My guess was 2 Million Dollars was the price.. He said it would be more l=ke 3 or 4 Million.. He said that the unit we had and the work we are doing to it is not in va=n as it is a very valuable piece of gear. I have the contact and he has offered to send figures if necessary to bac= up these assertions, within reason as they aren't making any money quantif=ing our project for value.
