He went back to the OR on Tuesday for =he 6th time, and they finally were able to close up his surgical =nbsp;incision, which was an important step as the last 2 times they were only able to =artially close due to the intestinal swelling. Today, they removed his =ose tube that had been draining fluid from his abdominal cavity for the =ast 3 weeks. He also had the catheter taken out and was sitting up in the hospital bed for prolonged periods =f time. Over the next week, he will start walking around his =ospital room and the hallways to help him regain his strength. He =as lost about 25 pounds but they are hoping to put him on a liquid diet very soon. We are grateful for his continued =rogress and are optimistic about his recovery timeline.
