The =abor department sent its standard wage request from to LSJ. This =orning labor also called and Daphne took the call. According to =aphne and Jeanne the labor department asked questions that seemed =esigned to determine whether Kyle was a de facto employee rather than a =ontractor. Labor asked for a copy of Kyle's contract and asked =aphne whether we set the hours of his services. Daphne told the =abor representative that we provide boat transportation to the Island =t the same time every day for all contractors, employees, and vendors =ho come to the Island. When asked what Kyles hours were and =ther questions regarding the terms of Kyle's contract, Daphne =aid she would need to obtain that information. Ultimately, Labor =aid that it would send a written information request, but it appears =hat it is looking to establish that Kyle was an employee.
