Introduction This memorandum summarizes the conflict of interest related to the investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI") of additional crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein ("Epstein"). The memo begins with a brief overview of the original investigation of Epstein, dubbed "Operation Leap Year"; summarizes the resolution of Operation Leap Year by the Southern District of Florida; and addresses the events following the resolution of Operation Leap Year, including the basis for the conflict.
