Should I ask James to come in to check or leave it alone?

It could just be that someone signed into the iMac or it was just restarted itself after it ran a software update.
Your ApplelD is used on your account on that machine.
The iMac is set to automatically update itself, and some of the macOS updates do create these "new sign in
alerts".
Since it knows the name I assigned the computer ("5th floor iMac") its very unlikely this is something to worry
about.
If you're concerned, I can visit the house tomorrow and take a look if you like.

Hi James,
I just received this notification on my iPhone.
I am out of town and was not using the 5th floor iMac.
Does this mean someone else have signed into it with my Apple ID?
Thank you,
Karyna
