The bite was in my navel right on the scar from a hernia operation I had a couple of years ago. So, for the first week I and the Dr.'s thought it was some kind of infection on the scar, as weird as that is. So, the lyme had a chance to incubate. I took the doxycycline as prescribed once we discovered it was lyme but it wasn't long enough so it was never completely gone. It started to build up again and I went to a real specialist and started taking Doxy again last week for a one month course. From: Jeffrey E.
