Subject: Day I Date: Fri, 01 Nov 2013 17:12:36 +0000 We are currently N 16.52 latitude, W 27.51 longitude, with 20 knots of breeze off the stern, doing 9 knots with a single reef in the main and the yankee. Last night we started in 30 knots and did hull speed with only the main up and double reefed. After midnight, the winds died and we wallowed around in the swell. Not much fun. By early morning the winds came back and we started to make good time again. We should do 200 miles today. The sun is out and we finished off a nice lunch. We are trailing a line, and hope to catch a fish. Last night we had a school of flying fish land on deck, flopping all over the place. But you don't eat flying fish, only tigers do. It is always a little unsettling watching the last of an Island lights fall over the horizon. Last night was no exception.
