I spoke to Chip„ He informed when you came up front to the cockpit, the radio was busy and both Chip and Dave were listening to the radio„ Chip said Dave was a little flustered with the GIV automation and was struggling with the autoPilot and auto throttles,. Chip said the auto-throttles dis-engaged during the turbulence coupled with the decent„ the airspeed increased during turbulence and the decent and the auto-throttles dis-engaged and couldn't keep up„ Once the airspeed decreased Dave re-engaged and was fine. Chip thought Dave was rusty at the controls and needs more stick time,. I think Dave is a little intimidated by Chip„ since there are several ways to operate the automation in the GIV,.
