From: Lesley Groff To: Jefffrey Epstein <jeevacation@gmail.com> Subject: Fwd: 2018 UCLA conference on the Healing power of Sound, April 2018 Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2017 22:42:46 +0000 Begin forwarded message: From: MARK TRAMO •cl Subject: Re: 2018 UCLA conference on the Healing power of Sound, April 2018 Date: August 22, 2017 at 6:34:09 PM EDT To: "Lavretsky, Helen" ica , Raffi Tachdjian scl Thanks for your reply, Helen - the line-up for your Conference on the Healing Power of Sound sounds great! Yes - Dr Krause is a long-time friend and colleague - FYI his bio is posted on our Institute's website - http://www.brainmusic.orgBoardPageBoard.html. He is a fabulous speaker, has a recent NY Times best-seller, "The Great Animal Orchestra", and, perhaps most importantly, adds a key yet often-overlooked dimension to biomedical research with music - the world of natural sounds. We have sought funding together for randomized-controlled clinical trials utilizing sound recordings of both music and natural sounds. Re: speakers and healers - Our UCLA colleague Dr Raffi Tachdjian has a special interest in the use of music in Autism therapies. Ping is best-versed with (and has painted much of) the landscape of music and arts therapy in LA, so she would be a helpful resource. Like Bernie and I, Ping is interested in advancing clinical trials that incorporate rigorous designs typical of R&D in the Biomedical Technology and Pharmaceutical worlds. If you are inviting out-of-town speakers, there are several colleagues and friends I could recommend. I received an email from Bernie Krause and talking to him about his pretty important work. I am also getting into virtual reality brain research where some of it could be applicable. Several speakers from USC have agreed to participate as well (Murali Nair, Assal Habibi and a couple more)- Ping Ho and Ronald Borzcon will probably also participate. EFTA00705458 so it is shaping up to be a very interesting event covering broadly neuroscience and social science of music/sound healing. I was thinking also of inviting sound healers for brief experiential sessions. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Will be consolidating schedule shortly. Yes, I would be delighted to participate. Please see the attached PDFs. I could give a talk that incorporates either or both.
