I assume he (or she) is presently a flow through, and would get the benefits, if any, from the new tax law. New law would only have benefits if 1) total income is below the $157k (single) or $315k (married) limits, or 2) if the business has significant W-2 wage expense or significant fixed assets. Not clear if separating/combining activities could help maximize the deduction. Forming a C corp would generally not help unless there is intention to fund future growth with the profits rather than distribute them to the owners. Alan 2 Virus-free.
