The statement said the arms which Ban called for scrapping represent "the honored weapon that liberated most Lebanese territories unconditionally. It is the guarantee for Lebanon's strength that protects them, their territories, wealth and future," reported Beirut daily As-Safir. Hezbollah said it was only surprised by the palpable fingerprints of Ban's "Zionist" aides Terje-Roed Larsen and Jeffrey Feltman who drafted the report based on their knowledge of Lebanese politics, and their adoption of the "March 14" speech. This fact, the statement added, makes the UN not at equal distances with all Lebanese parties, but rather biased to a party against another.
