I spoke to Julia Koch tonight who told me even Peter Marino sent the construction bills directly to her, the client and he got a design fee. I also spoke to Chris Clarke tonight. He will come look at the 125 E. 74th Street apartment within two days. He suggested I ask to go the the factory to see the kitchen cabinets which Karen says are in production. This Karen charges by the hour to design AND charges 30% of everything you buy. None of this is explicit in her billing. Josh Schmell, my accountant, and Bryan Bantry have spoke to her on my behalf. Karen has been rude to both of them and threaten Bryan by saying she has me over a barrel because I have no place to live. This is not her business and not true. Chris suggested I go to the building board and have them give her a deadline to get out. If she does not meet the deadline, the building will charge her. Bryan has tried to reason with her and said, give me the bills or just make a compromise and finish. Both parties just want to finish. She is insiisting I signed the change order forms and she has me over a barrel because I signed the contract. There are bills for $95,000 for mouldings. $35,000 for electrical. There is NO backup. She already took me to a fireplace company and charged me $11,000 for a $5,000 fireplace. I am being taken advantage of. I am so sorry to share any of this with you. Any help would be so appreciated.
