She is also making a significant contribution to education locally and internationally through her numerous publications as well as the educational program of the NMAC foundation ( ). I support her nomination because I consider she stands for a mission of expanding contemporary culture to an underdeveloped area. Her extreme perseverance, generosity, kindness, hard work and commitment on promoting the dialogue of different civilizations, and protecting the environment through the language of art make her a valuable addition to the Young global Leaders. Please describe the candidate's commitment to serve society at large Most people work all their lives to reach the positions that Jimena reached at an extremely young age in the world of contemporary art. Yet, she did not hesitate to leave that centre stage twice to bring education, culture and the fresh air of contemporary art to the benefit of the poorest region in Spain, Andalucia were she was born. By doing so she has not only managed to put that part of the world on the map of the contemporary art world, she has also created a unique and beautiful place, the NMAC foundation, giving every year to over 50,000 local children what for most is thcir first real contact with art and helping launch the careers of many young artists.
