The desk has a natural finish with uneven tones and finish the joints where shelves meet are slightly discolored, Inside draws have a diffrent finish from top of desk, sides of top of desk look like laminate not solid oak, top of desk above pull draws have strip wood on edge 1"wide runs across desk not a solid piece. i hope this helps Rich.
