A foreign visitor has only one day to spend in your country. Where should this visitor go on that day? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice. A foreign visitor who has only one day to spend in Poland should go to Warsaw. Warsaw is a very interesting city, with a tough past and important historical meaning. During the second World War this beautiful city was destroyed and robbed by Nazis and Communists. Most parts of Warsaw were left in ruin after the Warsaw Uprising. Many people were deported and killed in a cruel way. There are two reasons a visitor should go to Warsaw. The first reason is the history. Warsaw is the best place for a foreign visitor because this is the place a huge battle of the Polish people took place, not only the Polish Underground, but simple civilians, who finally got very tired of the current occupants and decided to fight for their freedom. During the Warsaw Uprising every day over 2000 Polish civilians were murdered on the streets of Warsaw not even counting Jewish people, who were regularly executed for already 4 years. The second reason is for the sights. Every foreign tourist should take a look at Warsaw Old Town, rebuilt by people who were living there just after WWII. Leftovers of the Jewish Ghetto wall is a must to see for every person visiting Poland. Also the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising and lots of monuments and symbols of a terrible past which happened here are worthwhile to see. Many streets in Warsaw were renovated very beautifully and nowadays its even more difficult to believe what happened there only 70 years ago. To conclude, I think Warsaw is the most interesting place to visit because it would be a great lesson of history and help foreigners to understand the Polish role in the Second World War.
