THE SANTA FE OPERA August 23, 2012 Mr. Frederic Chaslin The Santa Fe Opera Chief Conductor Dear Frederic: Thank you for your letter of August 18, 2012. I certainly appreciate your personal reasons for moving forward in a different direction, and understand your desire to pursue new artistic opportunities. In combination with information regarding circumstances of which we were recently informed, our contract with you as Chief Conductor will conclude as of the close of the final performance of Tosca on Friday, August 24, 2012. The date of any and all public announcements of your resignation will be determined solely by the Opera. We will pay fees due through the end of the Opera's fiscal year, which is September 30, 2012. All amounts will be included in the check due to you on August 30, 2012, at which point there will be no further obligation from either party. We wish you the best in all future endeavors. Sincerely, klac_1(y Charles MacKay General Director POST OFFICE BOX 2408 SANTA FE, NM 87504-2408 PHON EFTA01180699
