Henri d'Armagnac

Henri d'Armagnac is a French avocat (attorney at law) and managing partner of d'Armagnac & Associes, located at 112 bis Boulevard Malesherbes, 75017 Paris. He holds the title "Ancien Membre du Conseil de l'Ordre," indicating he previously served on the governing council of the Paris Bar Association, a position of considerable standing in the French legal profession. D'Armagnac appears in approximately 118 OCR documents and 146 emails in the DOJ's EFTA release, making him one of the more extensively documented legal contacts in Epstein's European network. The first documented contact occurred on November 14, 2013, when Carlyn McCaffrey, a partner at McDermott Will & Emery in New York, emailed Epstein: "Just received an email from him. I think we'll be meeting next Thursday."

Epstein replied "cool" and then added a detailed, unprompted briefing on the Edmond de Rothschild family: "edmonde de rothschild family, now ariane and benjamin. 4 girls age 18-14-12-11, highly confidential, mother in law nadine, hotels, wine not lafite. cheese, israel foundation caesaria... 150 billion under asset mgmt, cross holdings with other family (david et al). currently restructuring biz structure." This briefing, sent in the context of an introduction to a new French lawyer, reveals that Epstein was framing d'Armagnac's potential usefulness in terms of access to the Rothschild family's legal and financial affairs. On March 24, 2014, d'Armagnac emailed Epstein directly, offering to rearrange his travel from Canada to stop in New York for a meeting on "A subject."

Epstein initially replied "Probably not. Did you have something for me to read." The meeting was eventually scheduled for April 7, 2014, at 4:00 PM at Epstein's townhouse at 9 East 71st Street. The same day's schedule included appointments with Leon Black at 1:00 PM, Rich Joslin at 2:00 PM, and Andrew Farkas at 5:00 PM, followed by the Tribeca Ball at the New York Academy of Art at 6:00 PM. An email from the same day indicates that an unnamed woman in Epstein's circle was also present at the house, writing: "Hobnob is in town, I may have a coffee with him after the ball.

Would it be ok to have my hair washed and blow dried at 3.30... You have Henri darmagnac, and Andrew farkas this afternoon though. And as always if you prefer me with you this afternoon you will get priority gladly :))) you always first." In September 2015, d'Armagnac again offered his legal services. The exchange produced the email in which Epstein revealed his existing arrangement with Marie-Joseph Experton: "I use a female lawyer from belgium for my personal things... i could use a new lawyer in paris... i would gladly use you, but ariane would have to consent."

The reference to "ariane" is to Ariane de Rothschild, chair of Edmond de Rothschild Group, suggesting that d'Armagnac's primary client relationship was with the Rothschild family and that Epstein needed their approval before retaining him. D'Armagnac also sent Epstein property listings in Paris ("Dossier vente 1," "Dossier vente 3") and exchanged correspondence through at least May 2017. He used the email address hac@as-avocats.fr and signed his messages with his full professional title. D'Armagnac has not been accused of any criminal conduct.

His presence in the files documents Epstein's pursuit of French legal representation connected to one of Europe's wealthiest banking families.
