FBI Interview — Banasiak: House Renovation Post-Search Warrant

JANUSZ BANASIAK BANASIAK wants to make correction on phone book with black cover. Its not black, its maybe silver or metal square on front and back. He had previously mentioned that it was black because but he remembers people saying someone was trying to sell the black book. The pages were in between the metal squares. BANASIAK applied for this job through an employment agency, at this time I was living in Brooklyn with a friend, I moved there to apply for jobs from Virginia working for seagrums, then got a call, then interview by GM, then interview be JE. My job was to make sure the house was ready for when they arrived. Clean pool, garden, shopping, flowers, clean windows, id drive JE and his assistants and GM. 1980 I moved to USA, moved to NY, then to Virginia, then back to NY. My interview with GM was in NY, in her house. The house was between park and lex, 4 story, office was on the first floor. Regular townhouse. The interview was about 30 min, she asked me where I worked before, she tells me I will next interview with JE. 2-3 days later I interviewed with JE in his office on Madison Avenue. Maybe a 20 min interview. They told me the job opportunity is in Florida. Later I receive a call from agency telling me I got the job. I take my belongings and move to FL. I live on his property, there is a small house with about 3 bedrooms. I lived there by myself. When I started working, there was a manual. Don't remember who gave it to me but I read it. There was als another person working, M, she mentioned something to me about what he likes, but most of the information I got was from GM, his fav foods, flowers, where to buy groceries, how to answer phone, what he likes. Manual says How to prepare the house. I remember meeting with FBI previously and I gave them the receipts of purchases I made for the house using petty cash. It was either GM or the accountant told me how to use the petty cash, and remove money from the bank for gas, groceries and such ($2000 at a time). And I make the report on the computer of all the expenses. I was taught how to do this when I got hired. Then I take out another $2000. This was prior to them moving to CC purchases. I don't remember if it was a bound book, but I think it may have just been paper like this and stapled together. I recognize the text and how to answer the phone, and the bathrooms. JE did not answer the phones. GM tells me to answer and what to say, introduce myself, this is EPSTEIN residence, and im not allowed to tell that person if he is here or not. I take a message, then write it down in a message book. If it was a short message, I would write it down right away while on the phone. If it was a long message, I might write it after I hang up. Ever learn that there was an investigation into 1E? One day police showed up with a SW, that's when I learned there was an investigation. The place is was living at, sitting at my computer and saw 4-5 guys show up through the window. They stepped in and introduced themselves, showed and read me the SW. and told me they had to search the house. I was present for the search. There was also a designer for the house present as well. They put us aside during the SW. Then learned what he was accused of in the newspapers. I lived in that small house on the proper lived in that small house on the property until 2017. Did you ever come to understand what was going on with his case? I remember that he wasn't present on the SW Day. I called NY office, they called me back and wanted me to deliver the SW papers to his lawyer. I think I called after the SW was done because police asked us to not make any calls. After the SW I learned about what he was accused of in the papers and on the TV. I never talked to him about it. He didn't talk friendly with us. If he wanted something to be done in the house he would tell the office and then they would tell me. He spent the whole year traveling from one house to another, NY, NM, Paris, FL. Never stayed in PB for more than a week. After the SW they renovated the house, rebuilt the walls and floor, he was not there during this time...about 6-8 months. I did not talk to him during this time. Thought maybe he was in NY or other places. He showed up one day to appear in court in PB. This is the time I saw him after the SW. since then, I learn he pleads guilty and goes to jail. I picked him up at the airport, he stayed for 2-3 days prior to his court date. I knew he was going to court from him. I drove him to the court. I read in the news that he plead guilty to solicitation of underage prostitution. I was shocked when I learned this. I haven't seen anything that what he was accused of, I didn't see anyone being forced. I knew they were coming and going. If I would have known something was going on I would have said something. I thought about changing my job, I even looked and called around. But I thought it was better to stay than to find another job. There wasn't a lot of work for me to do with him because he was in jail. But then as time went on I couldn't find anything better to work. I was disappointed with him and in what he was accused of. I think it was wrong. But I was settled down with my situation. I started at $65,000 and got raises every year. After he got arrested, I was told he cut 10 % from everyone's pay. After he finished his sentence, he did not raise us back 10%. I then seriously considered changing my job but nothing came up. House hold manual was maybe given to me by someone in the house but not sure who. I don't know who wrote it. I shared this manual with my coworkers.
